Hello everyone, I have a few questions about my CEC application.

1. job title. I work for a college with original job title of "Research Technician - software and electronics". My main duty is about programming and I intend to apply under the unit group of 2174 computer programmers.
Should I ask my supervisor to change my job title to something like "software developer" to avoid confusion to the CIC officer? If it's not changed, will the description of my work responsibilities qualify me to apply under this category?

2. T4 slip and NOA. I worked for this college from Jan 2012 to Jan 2013. T4 for year 2012 has not been issued. I didn't work before Jan 2012. Should I wait for new T4 and NOA or submit my T4 year 2011(it doesn't have the information about my 1 year of full time working experience)?

3. Birth certificate. From the checklist, it asks for copy of it. If I ask my parents to scan and email it to me, will it work if I print from the email?

Thanks a lot for the help guys!

No. Job title matters little compared to duties and responsibilities.

You can submit your application with a written explanation that you have not yet received your first T4 or NOA and that you will send them as soon as you receive them. But do include photocopies of your 2012 year-end paystub and most recent paystub. And, if you have left this position, you should have a Record of Employment, or can access your ROE from the CRA website.

Yes, all that is required is a photocopy, that should suffice.

Umm, the caveat being - that the certificate is in English or French. If it is not, and you need to get it translated, you will need a certified copy of the original.
