My common-law spouse and I are filling out form IMM 5409E and despite reading the instruction guide, I'm having a bit of confusion with regards to filling it out. If anyone could offer helpful advice, I'd greatly appreciate it! Here are my questions:
1) Which one of us is the declarant and which one is the declarant's partner? Is the applicant the declarant or is the sponsor?
2) The top section of the form asks us to fill in the blanks of where we're from "name and name of _________". My partner is Australian but we both live and work in Montreal. Would we fill in CANADA/QC or would it be his country of origin?
3) There is a question that asks if we "jointly own property other than our residence?" What constitutes that property? We jointly own our furniture and household goods, but each of our cars are only listed in our names name and we don't have other large assets.
