Hey guys,

been filling out forms all day. I've pretty much completed them all, just need some clarity about some of the questions.

Sponsor Forms
IMM1344
Eligibility
Q. 4 - it says the sponsor may be eligible to apply if they live exclusively outside Canada. We both live outside Canada as temporary residents with full intention to return sometime next year. Should I tick that I exclusively live outside Canada? Will this impact my chances of getting approved?
Declaration
Q. 6 - It asks if we have submitted an application before - we submitted one for when I was commonlaw but then withdrew it. Does this count? I ticked no.

IMM5540
Q.7 - can't type all the employer details (name, address, number) - should I just write them in?
Q.11 - Asks when we plan to return to Canada. We're not sure. Either next year after we get approved, or at the end of next year, or the beginning of 2018. We don't know. Should I just say a year from now? Also, don't know where we're going to go. Currently thinking of Calgary, but should we put where the my wife's parents are from?
Also, proof of return! What should we provide? Wife is waiting for acceptance for an online program from uni calgary. we have money in canada and family who will help us get set up by giving us places to stay etc. we dont have jobs lined up or houses etc. we can start conversations with jobs and realtors but it will only be speculation. What should we do here?
Q.16 - Submitted an application before - yes, for the same applicant but it was withdrawn. yes or no?

Applicant forms
IMM008
Applicant details
Q.5 - intended place to live - not sure, but current idea is Calgary. Just put this?
Personal Details
Q.10 - dates - should I write present in the box after I print it? I can't seem to validate the form without information here
Q.11 - Can't enter details on the form as it goes grey when I say I don't live in Canada. Should I handwrite the last dates I was in Canada or doesn't it matter?
Education
Q.3 - Current Occupation - I put student although I'm also an English teacher - which should I put?

Should I put N/A in every box on the form after I print it or does the fact they've turned grey indicate I didn't skip the question?

IMM5669
Q.8-9 - Can't fit in the name of the city or the organisation name into the box - should I handwrite it in or type as much as possible?

IMM5406
Section A - guide says to write 'Married - Physically present' in the box. Can't fit it typed. Should i handwrite it or just type married?

IMM5490
Q.9 - Development of relationship - says to include photos or evidence. I was going to include this in the 3rd section of my application. I wrote at the end 'Photos included separately'. Same question here for the wedding details later on.
Q.20-23 - should I write N/A here or nothing?
Q.24-25 - I said we were never apart and so haven't visited each other as we have lived together since 2012. Is this ok?
Q.27 - Living together dates. Should I only mention the dates of when we were renting together and not the times in between when we were travelling?

That's all guys. Thanks!

4. Yes, you live outside of Canada. No, it will not impact approval provided you show proof of intent to return to Canada.

6. As the application is no longer pending, the answer is No.

7. Put what you can fit and finish on an additional sheet.

11. If you really aren't sure, then I suggest you wait to apply until you actually know when you are returning. CIC wants to see that you intend to return pretty much as soon as the app is returned and may refuse it otherwise. Also, CBSA can refuse to land you if they suspect you are not returning to Canada in the immediate future.

16. Yes. You submitted the app. It is not differentiating between apps that were finished and ones that were withdrawn.

5. Put wherever, doesn't matter.

10. Write the date you validate the form.

11. If it's greyed out, it's N/A.

3. You can put one or both, doesn't really matter.

IMM5669. Put "See additional sheet" and write it there.

IMM5406. You can handwrite it.

9. That's fine.

20-23. As stated on the form after question 19, "GO TO QUESTION 24". No need to write anything.

24-25. Yes, that's fine.

27. As you've not been apart, just put the one period of cohabitation covering the entire time you've been living together, including travelling.

Hi, thanks Canuck. Excellent help!

A couple of follow up questions about that.

The reason we wouldn't return immediately on receiving the approval is we would be finishing up our life here. Plan would be, apply for sponsorship, get sponsorship, travel to Canada to land (we're there once a year anyway to visit family), return to Australia, finish working and make preparation to move - selling stuff, etc etc.
Does the date I put in this box have to be pretty close to when I do land? If its too far in the future will the application get rejection/held back?
If I land after the date put, will CBSA know about it?

So this question is different than question 6 from IMM1344? We put No there, but have to say yes in this part?

And one last question, what should I do RE the following:

And one last question, what should I do RE the following:

If the date is too far in the future, the app will be returned and they will tell you to apply later when you are ready. CBSA will not know the date you put in the app but may question you as to when you plan to establish yourself in Canada and if it's too far into the future, they can refuse to land you, though it is very rare that they do this.

Yes, it's different. The IMM1344 question asks about an app that has been submitted and not yet received a decision, i.e. an app in process, while IMM5540 is just asking if you've submitted an app before.

For proof of intent to return, a university acceptance and family letters would be good but it's quite possible CIC would request more. Unless you have more concrete plans at that point to return, it will be hard to find other proofs.

Thanks!

I understand those questions now. Well work on other proof such as correspondance with realtors and potential jobs too.

As for landing date i think well put the soonest we think its possible well move which could be as early as next year. Depends on circumstances really.

That should be pretty fair. I mean if things change things change. And if CBSA question when why im landing with a return flight ill mention its to activate the visa and visit family and well return later once weve finalised our move.
