Hi,

I came to Canada as a landed immigrant (spouse sponsorship) in December 2006. I just want to know if I can sponsor my parents now? How long do I have to stay till I will be able to sponsor them? I have a permanent job with American Express and our family income is more than 75,000. Just want to know if I can sponsor for my parents now, or do i have to wait for a certain period of time? Also if I can, what kind of documents do i need to provide? And last but not least, if I can't sponsor will my wife (who is a Canadian Citizen) be able to sponsor for my parents?

I know that's a lot of questions, but I would really appreciate it if someone will take their precious time to answer these questions. Thank you!!!!

You could sponsor anytime after you and your spouse meet the Low Income Cut Off from Canadian sources in the year prior to the sponsorship. The application and forms are here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/family.asp

As a PR, you can sponsor your parents as soon as you can show that you have the income to support them as well as your family. You do not have to wait years to apply although you most likely will have to wait years for processing as parents sponsorship is not considered a priority. If you yourself don't have enough income to sponsor your parents, your spouse can co-sign in order to count both your incomes.
