Hey everyone,

If I'm sending the OWP in with our inland PR application, I noticed some of the required documents are the same for both the OWP and for the PR application. For example: both ask for photocopies of passport pages. Do I need to include duplicates? Or since I included it with the PR application, I can just make reference to it on the work permit application?

Thanks!

They are entirely separate applications. You need to include the documents in each.

what documents do i need to include? i was told from a few members on the boards that i should exclude certain things, such as an LMO for instance.

should i include the CAQ (we live in quebec)? job offer letter from her current employer? lmo from her current employer?

i'm just a bit confused as she is currently working and we just want to change from a closed work permit to an open work permit.

Leave the employer and LMO sections blank and don't include those documents, as that information isn't required for an open work permit. I imagine you should include the CSQ. For everything else, follow the checklist.

my wife doesn't have a CSQ. she has a CAQ that Quebec issues relating to her position at her company. it is issued at the same time as the LMO.

does anyone know if i need to give a copy of the CAQ when sending in the OWP?

can anyone confirm exactly which documents she should send in on the OWP checklist?

Have you applied for the CSQ needed for the sponsorship app?

So it is this application that is needed for your wife as she is already working in Canada http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/extend-worker.asp

Looking at the checklist:

IMM5710 - YES
IMM5556 - YES
IMM5401 - YES
IMM5476 - NO, as you are doing it yourselves
Stat Dec - NO, as you are married
Marriage Cert copy - YES

Photocopy of passport - YES
Photocopy of identity doc - NO, as she has passport
Photocopy of current permit - YES

Job offer - NO
Contract - NO
CAQ - YES
LMO - NO
Return ticket - NO

The rest of the checklist is not applicable to her situation.

wow, great help! thank you.

i'm just curious as to why we would include the CAQ if something like an LMO is not necessary for example. the CAQ is tied to her current employer.

Honestly, I'm not 100% on that, don't have much experience with it specifics for Quebec. I don't know if a CAQ is required for an OWP but I would include it just in case. If it is needed, it's there and if it's not needed, then they won't look at it.
