Questions about CommonLaw Outland Sponsorship

Hello!

I am Canadian, sponsoring my Australian boyfriend Jack to live here via common law sponsorship. I have a couple questions concerning the applications,

1. The application call's for Jack to have copies of his birth certificate and all of his families as well, even if they're not being sponsored or coming to Canada. Is this correct? Also is this just his immediate family, like his mother and father or would it also include his step mom, step dad and step siblings?

2. Jack is Australian by birth but has his British passport, even if he hasn't used it to gain entry to Canada should he have photocopies of it included?

1. family members only refers to people listed in the application applying for PR status. For spousal sponsorship, "family members" only refers to dependant children who are not canadian citizens. it is not referring to parents and siblings. Your spouse will need to list his family members on his Additional family information form, but that is the only place they belong in the application.

2. no, i believe only his primary passport is required.

Its changed since Dec, but assuming this is the same as the old style, no. You only need the applicant's birth certificate. You need info on their parents, siblings, and any children such as names, dates of birth, addresses.
