Hi, I'm a new member on the forum. My Express Entry profile was submitted in December 2020, with a CRS score of 371. Though I'm open to opportunities from any province, I have been keeping a close watch on the Alberta Express Entry Draws, as this is the province I'm most attracted to. At the cost of repeating common knowledge, allow me to print the Notifications of Interest sent by Alberta in 2021, so far:

Date of drawNo. of letters sentLowest CRS score
8-Jan-2150406
28-Jan-21100360
10-Feb-21200301
16-Feb-21159352
2-Mar-21200301
26-Mar-21300301
6-Apr-21200302

Despite my score being well above the cut-off in 6 out of the 7 draws, I have not received any NoI yet. On the other hand, it seems there are 200 EoI applications in the Alberta Express Entry Pool as of 13-Apr-21. I'm getting worried and frustrated. What could be the reason(s) for me not making the cut? Am I missing something here?

Are you living and working in Alberta? Until recently, Alberta was only selecting applicants living and working in the province.

What is your NOC?

I've not landed in Canada yet. My NOC is 0601.

Have you completed any post secondary education in Canada or do you have a job offer in Alberta? Do you have relatives living in Alberta?

Based on your occupation, I don't think you'll be selected through Alberta unless at least one of the above is true.

Is there any Government resource online where this can be verified?

I'm not sure what you mean by a government resource. The AINP web site lists the details of the program.

Alberta doesn't send invitations to everyone who has enough points to be selected. They pick who they want based on factors such as the applicant's occupation (NOC), whether they are already working and living in Alberta, whether they have a job offer in Alberta, whether they completed education in Canada, and whether they have family in Alberta.

Your NOC isn't in demand in Alberta and you don't fit any of the other criteria. For this reason your chances of receiving an invitation are extremely low.

I would recommend that you explore other ways of immigrating to Canada or focus on significantly increasing your CRS score so that you have a chance of being selected through Express Entry.

Good luck.
