Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a permanent resident in Canada since Oct. 13th 2013, my PR Card is valid till Nov. 20th 2018. Since landing, I stayed in Canada for a month; currently, I am working in Europe and looking for a job in Canada. Recently, Canadian company invited me for interview; my questions are:

1. As I did not fulfill the 730 days obligation, am I allowed to enter Canada?
2. Can the company interviewing me help me in this regard?

Awaiting to hear from you,

  1. Yes, you can enter. Expect that you will likely be reported for not meeting residency obligation. If that happens, IRCC will have started the process to revoke your PR status. You can appeal, but given you choose to work outside of Canada, the chances of a successful appeal are pretty close to zero. Once your PR is revoked, you will have to leave Canada.
  2. No, they can’t.
