Hello

I am a Bachelor Social Work from Belgium with 5 years of experience in this field, 3,5 of them where in management position and I did that until 2,5 years ago. I am currently self Employed in the information technology sector in Europe and own part of a start-up which is based in Belgium as well and operates in the HR Services and Information Technology sphere. I am currently relying on my start-up for income in €.

I am looking to settle in Canada to learn about the effects and possibilities of new community focussed, ecological farming projects using 'permaculture' techniques. I have no degree in this field.

I have more than enough points (self assessed) to apply for PR mainly based on good language skills, education and work experience (4152 Social Worker NOC) but I would like to start working on a farm // educational farm while the PR process is running.

My questions:

1) Does my education and work experience still count, point wise, if I will not apply for a classical social worker employment?
2) Is the interpretation of Social Work strict? Service to communities and education (about permaculture for example) Quote from the NOC page as one of the main duties: Develop or advise on social policy legislation, conduct social research and assist in community development which seems applicable. I have experience in assisting local and regional governmental bodies to write legislation in my previous occupation.
3) What are the general waiting times for Work Visa's with a contract available as opposed to the average of 13Mo waiting time for PR?

Any advice on how to approach this best?

Thanks in advance!

Best Regards
