Guys I have a question. I am on the point of submitting the full documents to Buffalo. I declared on the initial application to CIO Nova Scotia that I have 25000 CAD (for three person), which is way more than needed. The thing is that I have the whole amount in my account, here in US, but there comes me question...is there a possibility to declare less than 25000(lets say 22000) on my full documents to Buffalo. They will check with Nova Scotia to see that there is the same sum declared? We are a little short with money, and this whole process is pretty expensive...Maybe is just a stupid question...but I am waiting for your opinion...if there was someone in the same situation, please let me know. Thank you.

how many family members you are, who are actually immigrating to canada? you can declare a lesser amount but it must not be less than the amount required for your family size.

You can show amount less than CAD 25,000/- but the available balance in your bank account should be as per number of your family members.

Best of luck.

It's about me, my husband, and my son; on their website they say that for three family members we have to show $ CAD 16,967. The thing is that we declared on our initial application to Nova Scotia that we have $CAD 25,000. Now we want to submit the full documents to Buffalo Visa Office (we have applied to Cio Nova Scotia before the new law June 2010). The problems is that the whole costs( gathering the documents from our home country, bla, bla) were more expensive than we expected. And here is my question: if I have the whole amount in my bank account here in US, and I declared on my initial application xxxx dollars, but now I want to rewrite the form from the initial application form(where we have to write the funds available, from 25000 to let's say 23,000(even like this is more than they ask), will be a problem? Will they know that we changed the sum from X to Y? Thank you.

Please anyone has any idea? ???

They just want to be sure if you have the minimum amount to support yourself and your family (if applicable) or not so it would be a problem.

rocky272727 we have the amount that we declared in the application forms to Nova Scotia, which is more than they ask, but my question was: what if I take from that amount a sum of money, and the rest left in the account will still be more than the minimum amount asked by CIC, will be a problem?... I mean what happens if the sum we have in our account is with... let's say 2000 less than what we declared to CIO, even if the amount from the current bank statement is way more than what they require for three people...that is my worry. it's possible for them to say, ok... but you declared one amount and now you send a letter from the bank with another sum of money? might be an issue? ???

As long as you show proof of $ CAD 16,967 it is all right. Your mentioning of $20,000 in the application to CIO will have no bearing on your application. This should not issue be an issue on your mind. Go ahead.....
