Hi all,

I have a question regarding my age points in Federal EE and OINP. My scenario is, that presently I have above 400 score. Now If I get the OINP PT notification now, it takes more than a year to process till landing in Canada. So after one year due to my age increase I will lose score for age and go below 400.

No my question is that do they consider the same age and score which was at the point of PT notification throughout that lengthy process and keep it constant or I will have to withdraw, the moment my age increase and score decreases below 400?

Same question is for Federal EE as well. Please guide!

Thanks.

The day you get PT NOI from OINP, your age gets locked for OINP application process. First, Make sure you have more than 400 CRS points in order to receive PT NOI when they resume.
Again for IRCC, reduction in CRS points below cut-off (ITA via rounds of invitation) as a result of increase in age - is the only exceptional criteria.

In short, increase in age does not affect your existing OINP application and at any point after receiving ITA.

Thank you sushsmart15. So in short, increase in age does not affect your existing OINP application and at any point after receiving ITA and after PT notification as well? Please clear. First you mentioned after PT notification and then you said after ITA. These are two different stages. Thanks again.

For both the cases it does not affect your application.

Thanks. So if I get the OINP PT notification tomorrow and my age is 40, so even if my age becomes 41 or 42, points would be same as were calculated on the basis of 40 years till I land in Canada right?
Thanks again.

Lets say you submit your OINP application at age 40. Then this age gets locked for OINP only. Then if you get an ITA at 41, then that age gets locked for IRCC.

So this means that my age will be surely 41 and above by the time I get the ITA and then for IRCC my score will drop because of increase in age. I'll go below 400 and will have to withdraw my application. Right?
