Hey all,

I worked as an HR assistant at my uncle's company for 3 years but the reference letter provided to me did not include my job duties and responsibilities, rather it just mentions the time period and the position for which I worked there. Since I have the advantage that my uncle can provide me with a reference letter that aligns with the respective NOC, should I match the job duties to match 90% of the NOC? I mean, can it look suspicious during upon examination of the reference letter once I receive my ITA?

Thanks!

Hi,

I am assuming that down the road you are going to submit the letter with IRCC requirements, i.e with job duties.
To answer your question, it's not given anywhere on IRCC guidelines that how much of the duties you must or should match, but going by my own experience you should at least try to match (do not copy the exact statement, but should summarize to it anyway) the lead statement of the NOC you're aiming for.

Do not try to match all the job duties. It's okay if it matches 80-85% of your NOC duties. Also, avoid using the same keywords if it's possible (technical words are okay).
