hi

i applied for CEC on Aug 18/2014...i did not submit PCC with initial application as i was waiting for it...i received PCC on Aug 20/2014...i wonder howlong it is valid for???...i should be receiving my AOR in 10-15 days (i hope so)....so if we consider 3 months expiry for PCC then it will expire on Nov 20/2014...so if suppose i receive my AOR in first week of November, do you guys think PCC will be still valid if i send it right away???...i am confused about expiry of PCC...

please let me know so that i can apply for new one because it takes 1 month to receive it...

thanks

you wont be able to send anything until you get your AOR since you wont have a file number
No choice but to get AOR - Send PCC

If they want another PCC, they will ask you for it again anyways later

"The certificate must be issued no more than three months before you apply." You applied on August 18. Three months before that is May 18. So as long as your PCC was issued after May 18, it's good.

That statement is based on the assumption that the PCC is submitted WITH the application.

PCCs must not be more than 3 months old when received by CIC.

^I received a call from an Officer last Feb 2014 (I was a July 2013 applicant).
He asked a couple of details on my application, then reminded me to submit the PCCs.
I asked if mine was still ok to be sent (It was issued July 2013, but after I sent my application).

Exact response was: as long as it's not too old or one year old.
I said it was issued July 2013, and he was fine with that.

Two takeaways: 1) he could look at it as having been implicitly sent with the application, hence it wasn't 3 months old;
2) It could be dependent on countries/validity of PCCs

So to your point, mine was 8 months old when I sent it in, but it could be more an exception and treated on a case-to-case basis.
