Shifting my thread from the Family Sponsorship forum as this one is more appropriate!
My Irish partner recently received his passport and landing visa from the consulate in London and we're making our plans to move permanently next year. In the meantime, we're visiting my folks in Toronto for a couple of weeks next month, so that's when he'll do his landing. As we're only going for a couple of weeks before returning to Ireland, there won't be any goods following at that time. In fact, he's not going to have any goods at all really, as we were planning to lump all of his few bits- clothing, books and computer equipment- into my shipment, in which case I'll be filling out the form that's applicable to returning Canadians. By the time we make our actual move the goods will either have arrived ahead of us and will be stored in my parent's basement, or it will be not long behind us. We will at least have the details of the shipping carrier etc.
Does that make sense? Is this something that's going to cause a problem when he lands?
