I been living in the US for about 11 years . I over stay my tourist visa so I'm iligal. Now I'll like to apply for a Canadian visa for skilled worker. Can I do that without having to go back to my country or for been iligally in the US is nothing that I can do from here. Thanks

i think you are in trouble. in the application form, you are required to fill the question such as you have a valid visa. i dont think canada take people who offend the law.

If you qualify to apply for PR under the skilled worker program, there is no problem being illegal. Canada would be very negative towards giving you any kind of a temporary visa because of your overstay history but PR is permanent, you can not overstay a PR so there is no problem there. If you ever had a 1 year or longer visa to the US, you can even ask for processing in the Buffalo office. If not, you will have to be processed in your home country but unless they ask for an interview, you would not have to go there.
