Pre-Assessed..
My husband has an Iraqi passport and he wants to go visit his family. Of course he can't visit me because I'm in Canada and in order for him to visit me he would need his Visa :(. Anyways, he wants to know if it's okay for him to go and visit his family right now or would it be better for him to just wait until his Visa is issued to him before he makes any traveling plans? We just don't want any complications or any more delays to occur with our application.

Depends how long would his visit be and also at what stage you are at with your application. A brief visit shouldnt be a problem.

My husband wants to go for a month. He wanted to go in September (well at the end of August and stay there for the whole month of September). I don't know if it's a good idea or not?

As for where we are on the application, well . . . currently right now we are waiting for the results of routine background checks. I don't know how long this is going to take (I hope not much longer). However, my husband's medicals expire on September 10th, so he'll probably have to end up redoing them (again, I'm not sure whether he should redo them when they expire or if he should wait to see if he receives something telling him to go and redo them).

Ah.. ok well it seems like it would be risky to go that long.. If they want a redo his medicals they will probably send him something to his address. Perhaps he could do the medical where he will be visiting but I'm not sure if that's a good idea. A couple of weeks wouldnt hurt but a month not sure about that.. it might be fine and and he could do the medical and wait for the results from the visa office. I forget what visa office you were dealing with? Some are speedy once the checks are done. There could be a chance he will be done before his medical even expires as well. Did he email them about the medical expiration next month?

We're dealing with the London, England visa office. My husband wants to travel to Syria for one month to visit his family. As for the medicals, my husband has not received anything in the mail yet about redoing them. However, I spoke to the man that done my husband's interview and he told me that my husband will have to redo them becasue he needs valid medicals to land in Canada. I asked the man that done the interview if we should wait until my husband receives notice to redo them or if he should just go and redo them when they expire, his response was that your husband will have to redo his medicals and that it is up to us on when we want to redo them -- he says that you can wait to receive notice, or you can redo them when they expire. I am completely confused on what's the best step to take with these medicals as well as whether or not my husband should be gone for a month.

I just wish the background checks will clear and be over with already. It's sooooo frustrating just waiting and waiting, and not to mention it puts alot of strain and stress on a relationship.

Sadgirl in my opinion your husband should wait until his medical expired. Once they are he can redo them without their notice because as per your conversation with IO he still needs a valid medical to land in Canada no matter what.
He shouldn't leave before his medical expired and also not before redoing them.
Another option can he send a letter via case sepcific enquiry advising them to send him a written notification to his hotmail account rather courier a letter to his address.
Worse case scenario he should postpone his visit until his case if finalized and again based on my opinion.
Good luck!!!
