Dear Experts,

First of all, I would like to thank you all for the excellent work that you all are doing in providing professional advise to all of us here. This actually mean, we do not need an representative to handle our case (in most cases).

Anyhow, my question is, while filling the Economic Class Form, on question 12, the guide which is given on cic website mentioned that we need to mention here only jobs falling under NOC 2011 - 0, A or B and I have done the same.

So the question comes here is that I have occupation 2281 and 6231 that I have mentioned on this form. 6231 is my current job, where as 2281 was my first job I did back in 2005 to 2007 (and this makes me eligible to apply under NOC 2281 which is part of current 50 eligible occupations).

Between 2007 & 2009 I worked in a bank, and those duties do not fall under any of the NOC 2011 0, A or B. Do I still need a letter in the required format from my employer?

I might be late in asking this question, as I have already submitted my application which is received by CIC on 31st July 2014. I have provided with all documents required including reference letters from my employers for NOC 2281 (Jan 2005 to Feb 2007), then NOC 6231 (Mar 2009 to Nov 2011) and then NOC 6231 (Nov 2010 to July 2014 - current job).

But I have also sent my normal experience letter (not in CIC format for job which I did in bank during Feb 2007 & Mar 2009 (this has no NOC and I do not intend to get any points either).

I know it a bit confusing, but really appreciate if someone can share their experience.

Best regards to all!

Ali

What is the question? Could you please clarify a bit?

The point is that you need at least 1 year of continuous full time work experience within last 10 years and with a single NOC code which is on the 50 eligible occupations list. For that experience a correct letter of reference is vital.

For the rest periods it is not that important if you gain at least 67 points without them taken into consideration.

Sorry for not being very clear with regards to my question.

What I need to know is, I am getting my 67 points with all correct documents. But I have submitted a letter of experience for period 2007 to 2009 which doesn't fall under any NOC and also its not in required format. Will it be an issue or not?

I do not think it will be a problem since it is not your Primary NOC experience that lacks proper supporting documents.

Thank you sir, also if you can clarify one more point with regards to points calculation for work experience. My understanding is that we will get points for all the work experience we have shown which falls under NOC 2011 0, A & B and not only for the primary occupation?

Yes, you are correct. You can have a 1 year experience under your Primary NOC (within the 50 eligible occupations list) and another 9 years under other NOC codes and gain points for 10 years overall.
