Question on receipt from online payment

We just paid the $1040 online and printed two copies of the receipt.

I am confused about the portion that says Client Name, Client date of birth, and Client ID.

Who is the client?

I am the Canadian. My husband is British, the principal applicant. He has a client ID # from his current IEC visa. I have no client ID.

Please advise.

The client is usually the sponsor. The "Client ID" box can be left blank, CIC will know what to do with it.

Even if you, the sponsor, went through immigration at some point and been issued an UCI, it's still no problem leaving it blank. If you are a born canadian, you have no UCI, thus no Client ID If you are a PR or a naturalized citizen and you know your UCI (xxxx-xxxx - it can be found on the Record of Landing), put it there.
