Hello there,

My boyfriend is my sponsor and also a Canadian. I am filling IMM5532 and have questions

Part A question 7 previous relationship.
He lived with his ex-girlfriend together for a few years but both of them are Canadian. He has never sponsored anyone before.
Does that relationship count common-law relationship? Do I need to put this on the form?

Part C Question 4 if you are not living together, have you visited each other during your relationship?
My boyfriend and I had six months long distance relationship (201810-201904). During these months, I didnt go visit him until in April. Since then, we have been living together.
201810-20190417 I was in UK
20190418 -20190917 flew back to Vancouver and visited him and live together
20190918 we flew together to UK and worked in UK.

Should I click yes or no? How do I answer this question? If I click yes, do I need to attach my flight ticket as proof.

Part C question 9 were there formal ceremonies or events to recognize or celebrate your relationship?
We celebrated each other birthday, also been to friend's birthday and his sister's birthday.
Do they count ?

Thank you for your time.

1) if they lived together for 12 consecutive months then they were common law so yes.

2) if you live together right now then you are not applicable to answer this question. It's for people who do not live together (anymore, because one partner had to go back to their homecountry after establishing common law or they are married but still live separately)

3) formal celebrations for the relationship, aka engagement party and stuff like that. Not birthdays.
