Hi,
I have quick question for SCHEDULE A/ BACKGROUND DECLARATION [IMM 5669 (12-2012) E]
7. Education
Give full details of all the secondary and post Secondary education (including university, college and apprenticeship training) you have had.

Should we start from class X Exam for Secondary and then HSc for 10+2 onwards?
What should we write from (Y & M) and To (Y &M) for secondary(10 th one)? Say if my 10th secondary is in 1990 Mar, should I write from 1989 Jan to 1990 Mar?
Thanks in adavce!

Yes. You should give details starting 10 + 2 + 3 and so on.
Go by the academic year. 1989 Mar to 1990 Mar.

Shall we start our education from Grade 1? ie, if you studied 2 or 3 years before Grade 1, that is not counted??

Does secondary education starts from Grade 1 or Grade 5?

I am not sure why i have confusion in this:

Schedule A, Education section:
Give no of years of school you successfully completed in each level of education:

Elementary/primary school: is this education before Grade 1 ?

Secondary school/high school: this is Grade 1 to Grade 12, i believe..

University/College: this is graduation

It varies from place to place. Refer > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Education_in_Canada

Hence, it should be 8 + 4 + 4
(according Canadian system of education)
isin't?

Elementary education
Grade 1 (ages 6–7)
Grade 2 (ages 7–8)
Grade 3 (ages 8–9)
Grade 4 (ages 9–10)
Grade 5 (ages 10–11)
Grade 6 (ages 11–12)
Grade 7 (ages 12–13)
Grade 8 (ages 13–14)

Secondary education
Grade 9 (ages 14–15)
Grade 10 (ages 15–16)
Grade 11 (ages 16–17)
Grade 12 (ages 17–18)

I would also like to know this. Is elementary school grades 1-8? Where I'm from, elementary is 1st to 6th grade, and high school 7th to 12th

Hi,
I am also confused. Recently I have submitted my application in which I filled from HSc. Is it affects my application?

Folks,

There is no instance of rejection on the grounds of wrongfully classifying Elementary and Secondary education. The classification varies from place to place. I know of many applicants who have done it differently but still without any hiccups in the process, successfully got a PR.

Ones who have already submitted their application > stop worrying.
Ones who are in the process of submitting application > simply follow the education system prevalent in your country and map it to the education system in Canada - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Education_in_Canada

Elementary Education - Grade 1 to 8
Secondary Education - Grade 9 to 12
University - Graduation onwards

Hi Andy,
Thanks for your clarification.
I hope, i will not have any problem for this issue.

what do you mean by 10 + 2 + 3???

Education system in India
Grade 1 to 10 (10 years)
Grade 11 & 12 (2 years)
Graduation (3 years)

Andy,

In Korea, the education system is:
grade 1-6 (elementary)
grade 7-9 (junior high)
grade 10-12 (senior high)

in schedule A #7 education section, you've adviced to write every single years in junior to senior high shool year. In my case, for the secondary edcation, can I just state the starting year and month of junior and senior. For example, if my junior high was 2000 Jan - 2002 Jan in total of 3 years, should I still state:
2000 Jan - 2001 Feb grade 7
2001 Feb - 2002 Feb grade 8
... and so forth.

I think it's fine to write 2000 Jan - 2002 Jan, then same thing for senior high.
What's your opinion?
