Hi,

I have a quick question and I really hope someone can help me out.

My wife has applied 'outland' Spouse sponsorship for PR VISA( meaning applying PR outside of Canada). She received a letter last month to submit her passport to Canadian Embassy in Japan. Her visitor visa has expired 05 January 2011. She did applied visitor visa extension for another 6 month (05 July 2011) before her visitor visa has expired. It is almost June 2011 right now and even if she get her VISA extension, she can only stay for another month or less. She wants to go back to Japan and submit her passport to Canadian Embassy in Japan.

My question is: For my wife's case...since she should be getting PR VISA once she has submitted her passport to the Canadian Embassy in Japan... Is it ok to leave Canada without waiting for the response for the VISA Extension? Will she get a bad record that might potential effect her to get the PR visa? She is currently under 'implied status'.

I did read some threads about the implied status will be void if someone leaves Canada without waiting for the visa extension. <- Will this effect my wife's PR VISA decision? ( I just want to be safe on this one)

Thank you very much for your help!

Sincerely,

Joshua

No it wont effect the PR. If she leaves canada to go to Japan to submit the passport, she will get her passport back with the one entry visa in it, then she will land in canada and become a PR. The visitor visa extension wont be necessary.
