Hey guys I have a quick question.

I got a medical and she said she was submitting my report after the tests came back clear. (which they did) I had high blood pressure but I read that that wouldn't affect my application. She referred me to see a cardiologist even though they told me they were booking an appointment for 24h blood pressure monitoring (100$ vs 350$! without insurance) and I agreed to this weeks ago.

I show up to my appointment today and they told me I was here for a consult to see a cardiologist. I didn't have 330$ on me so I had to reschedule the appointment. I am currently waiting for the open work permit to arrive so I wanted to return when I got a new health card as I currently don't have insurance.

Will this affect my work permit that is hopefully due to arrive soon? I applied for it under spousal sponsorship and I received a call to correct some information about it so im assuming its coming soon. ( I applied in Feb) Does it affect my PR application at all?

Thanks so much :/

The medical for residency is generally looking for two things: infectious diseases and/or health problems that would be a burden to the health care system. If all you have is high blood pressure, it should not be an issue. That said, high blood pressure is not to be taken lightly, but it should not affect your application.

Make sure you follow up about the blood pressure but don't stress about your application :) in any case, that will only make your blood pressure worse!

Hope this helps.

I absolutely understand, I do take my health seriously. I just could not put up 330$ on the spot.

I will be back as soon as i have a new health card, thanks for easing my worries :)

Sorry - I didn't mean for that to come off as you didn't pay up because you don't care about your health. I meant it in a way to not downplay it! That was all :)

Just wanted to chime in again and say my medical was still approved :) thank you again.
