Hi all.
I wonder if someone can help me. I am an "American" and I haven living in Canada with my partner since Sept 2001. I say "American" because I am Iroquois but I do have a US passport. I came here on a study permit and graduated in 2005. I have been on a work permit afterwards. I don't know if I would qualify for Canadian Experience Class or not. I now work for a post secondary institution and my employer has offered to help me with my PR application.
My question is what is faster? Work will do the "cant find anyone here to do this job" but I heard that takes a while. I could do the family class because of our common law status. Perhaps the CEC? My current work permit ends July 2012 and I would like to get this done asap.
Anyway, I thought I would ask you folks.
Just in case someone asks, I have looked into the Jay treaty and it wont work. Canada considers me a landed immigrant even though this is our traditional territory.
Thanks in advance for the potential help.
