I have a somewhat long story.

My wife and I got married in Nov 2011 by applying for a K-1 Visa to the US, and she is now a greencard holder with marriage conditions. We've been living together in Texas this whole time. We decided back in September 2012 that it would be better for our family (we had our first child in December) to move to Canada through family sponsorship. Our son already has paperwork in line for his canadian citizenship certificate and my PR application is currently in between getting the VO AOR or the PPR since CPPO Ottawa has a habit of not sending out an AOR.

We don't have much that absolutely HAS to come with us to Canada. We are going to stay at her parents until we are back on our feet. The only items we are bringing is 3 suitcases of clothes and our computer equipment. (I'm a designer by trade and shes a stay at home mom). My question is, since we are driving up to Canada and crossing at Sarnia, would the IO be hesitant to allow us through since I'll have texas plates? I ask because I wonder if they would assume that since we drove so far, it would be doubtful that we'd go back.

I do own property in TX, and also will have about $2500 when we go. We planned on waiting out the rest of the PR in Canada if possible.

Thanks for the help!
