My girlfriend is currently here on a PGWP which expires in June, 2015. We have been dating for a year, and are thinking seriously about spending the rest of our lives together. She will be living with me starting in December.
After doing some research, it seems that the outland family class sponsorship route would be the fastest and best route to go to ensure this. Unfortunately, if she cannot find a full time position (and her employer provides her with an LMIA) a few months before June due to processing times, it seems like her PGWP will expire before we have lived together for 12 months.
My question is this. In a "worse case scenario", can she change her status to "visitor" for 6 months (attaching proof of departure, cover letter, whatever would be necessary) so that we can meet the 12 month requirement?
