Question about the 4 year rule

Hi Guys,

I didn't know about the 4 year limit until now, I'm a bit confused, hope someone could answer.

I got my 3 year Post Graduate Work Permit in 2011, didn't start working full time till Sept 2012, then got my 1 year OWP last year (which will be expired on April 30, 2015).

So the 4 year rule, does it mean that I already reached my limit ( 3 year post graduate + 1 year OWP)??? Or it's only counted from the date I started working (Sept 2012)??? If that's the case then I could still stay and work till Sept 2016, correct???

1. Your 3 year PGWP is not counted towards the 4 years.

These categories or occupations are the exceptions for which a work permit can exceed the four-year limit:

NOC O and A (including spouses/dependants of these skilled temporary foreign workers)
LMIA-exempt jobs under
International agreements
Canadian interests
Self-support
Humanitarian reasons
