My cousin has all the points needed to apply but he is concern that he is not marry to his couple. They have live together for a while. Would she classify as his legit spouse? and how does he prove she is her legit partner and not an arranged marriage. Any idea you can shared about this subject is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Peter

Hi Peter,

Canadian immigration considers either a spouse or common law partner. For common law partner you have to prove that you have been living together for a certain number of years. This can be done, for example, by providing bank statements that show proof of address. Meaning, both of them receiving bank statements on the same address.

Good luck
