I need some advice regarding my current situation. I left canada 3 years ago and now i found a new employer who hired me and we got a positive lmia already. Now my concern is, i overstayed in canada for 6 months, will that affect my application for temporary resident permit? Will they refuse it? The reason i overstayed is i want to stay for the boxing day so i can buy more gifts to my family and cuz its cheaper. Can you enlighten me?

Come on man you need to be more creative . The excuse that you overstayed a solid six months just so that you could buy gifts cheaper is as lame as they come. The economics of the savings in cost for the gifts vs the incurred cost of living for six months is mind boggling.
On a serious.note any overstay history makes your next application approval difficult. You must possess one hell of skill sets to have your employer go through the process of securing a positive LMIA.
Good luck on ur application.

Overstaying is overstaying, regardless of the amazing Boxing Day deals. You will have to indicate the overstay on the application or risk misrepresentation and a 5 year ban, so yes it will have an effect. You’ve already shown you couldnt respect the terms of your previous visa, so chances are you are in for an uphill battle.
