Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi All,

Currently I have above 400 score. I hope that I will get the notification of Interest soon. My current profile is with my wife and family. Now if I get the PT notification and during that long process, if I feel that my score may fall below 400, can I drop my wife and dependent from the application so that I can get more added points and stay above 400 score for OINP eligibility during that processing?
Thank you.

If you divorce her ;D

Ok seriously. If you put her as non accompanying you you will practicaly need another 2 to 3 years after landing in order to sponzor and get her in. If you think that is a good idea that is on you to decide. I would say that it is easier to retake ielts in order to max score and for her as well rather than this. Plus i do not even recall that putting your spouse as non accompanying will give you points as for single. And remember even if it does and you will keep her in that status until pnp is done and then you change it back for ita, ontario can still withdraw your nomination for misenterpretation.

maybe you can get her WES ECA done, and ask her to write ielts also.... even 4-5 extra points could be the difference..

Thank you Vensak. The thing is that my wife is presently part of my application. She has done ECA and IELTS too. Currently my score is above 400 but I fear that as time passes due to my age I may lose points gradually. That's why I am asking. I checked, if you put your spouse as non accompanying it increases points. But the question is it legal and permissible to change your application during the selection process?
After editing my application the family part was no longer a part of my application at all. And how would it be a misinterpretation, please explain?
Thanks again.

And also on this forum someone was telling me that it takes 8-18 months to call your family from outside of canada after getting PR.

if your wife has work experience 3 + years in the last 10 years, maybe you can make her primary applicant (providing she is younger than you)

how many points do you have currently ? if its over 410-415, then you should be fine for atleast 2 years...

The main problem if you take it down and then up again before landing, it can be seen as misinterpretation from Ontario side, specially if one of the basic conditions is the point amount. And Ontario can withdraw PNP which will lead rejection after ITA.
Good news is that your age will be counted according to the date of your application and not your nomination (so if you loose those points in process, Ontario will still count it).

But in the OINP guide it says:
7.2 MAINTAINING A MINIMUM CRS SCORE OF 400

You must maintain a minimum score of 400 points on the Express Entry
Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)through the Ontario processing stage and
your Application for Permanent Residence to IRCC.

I will drop the family part entirely. My wife and kid will not accompany me and I will make that change in the application during the process. That will increase my points. Then get PR and then call them. That's what I'm saying. Would that be ok?

You can find other discussions with this topic, but when it comes to age specifically, that one is taken on the moment then you have either recieved PT or send out your application or worst case, when you got AOR. Even if your age will take you points after that, it will not be taken into consideration.

Ok thanks Vensak.
