Question about newborn, born in Canada to Canadian mother and Cuban father

Hi everyone. I applied to sponsor my husband in September. At that time I was already pregnant.
Our baby was born in Canada in December and when I filled in for her birth certificate I couldn't add my husband as the father because he was not in Canada.
Here is a quote from ontario Birth Registration: "The birth registration must be signed by each parent whose information is included on the birth registration form, unless that parent is incapable due to illness or death."
My husband now got a call from the embassy asking him to bring a copy of the birth certificate. I am assuming they are expecting his name to be on the certificate.
What should we do?

Are you sure that the embassy is asking your baby's birth certificate? It may that the embassy is asking for your husband's birth certificate.

Then, write an explanation letter and submit it with the birth certificate you have. The worst may be that the embassy will require a DNA test to make sure that your husband is the biological father of your baby.

Yes I will do that. Just hopefully they wont take even longer..
