Question about my work visa.

Hello.
I'm currently working for Mr. D (not real name).
And I have closed work visa.
I'm waiting for my file number since I submitted my PR application. It's been 5 months so I'm expecting it to be completed next month.
Because of Covid-19, I had to get closed work visa, not open.
The reason why I couldn't apply for bridge open work visa is because the processing time for file number is extended so I had to get a closed work visa before my PGWP visa is expired.
So, my question is, if I get my file number next month, would i be eligible for applying for bridge open work visa even though I already have my closed work visa?
One more question is, if I'm eligible and after I get my bridge open work visa, is it okay to quit my current work and find another job?

1, You can only apply for bridge open work permit if your closed permit expires in 4 months or less.
