I am waiting for CIC to send my passport back however, I have couple questions about landing now..

1. I quit my job around Feb this year and I did not inform CIC about it, will this be a problem for landing? Will they refuse my landing process because I am not working and I did not inform them about it?

2. Do I need to bring bank statement for landing?

Thanks guys...

No need to worry about job. That certainly wont be a problem. Proof of fund is not required under CEC, but you can carry a latest one incase if they ask for it.

Thanks alot! I was so worried , my friend was rejected for landing because he changed his address and did not inform CIC...

You would better bring bank statement. I just landed at ottawa airport. They asked me to show it.

The only thing I was asked was what I do for a living, that was it,no interviews,no bank statements,no employers letters or anything else,it took 5 mns to sign the papers and then we left the border.
The longest part was the wait in the waiting room to get called.

baitianer did you apply for PR from within Canada or outside?
Usually if you apply from within Canada they do not ask for proof of funds as you are already in Canada.

One more question guys...

I do not need to bring pictures for landing, right?

Hi,

You do not need to carry pictures. There will be a picture of you on one of the letter that you have received from them along with your passport after landing visa stamped. That should be enough.

Hi,

I am a CEC applicant planning to land at Niagara falls. So, the COPR, Passport and optional bank statement is all it takes to land?. I would appreciate some confirmation. BTW, I am in Toronto now and have a valid USA visa.

Yes mate, that is all that you will require!

Happy landing!

If copr/visa is getting expired soon then Can we just Go for landing and return back in a week??
What details or proofs need to be provided in this case??

Hello kind people,

Finally got our CoPRs in the post. Yay! Need to land now. We are living in Toronto, so I am still trying to understand the process of landing from within the country. Somebody mentioned it can be done at the airport? Meaning crossing the border and walking right back in, something like that. Or is it necessary to go to Niagara? Wanted to do that asap, naturally ))).

Would appreciate any advice or even just a pointing into the right direction.

Many thanks!

1. No, it can't done at the airport unless arriving on an international flight.
2. You can "flagpole" at the nearest border crossing or you can make an appointment at a Toronto CIC by phoning the call centre (4-8 weeks wait)
