Hi guys,

Thanks in part to this forum, it looks like we're almost done as ECAS shows Decision Made, and we're expecting my wife's passport in the mail any day now. We're here in Toronto so we'll have to drive to Buffalo for the landing.

I have one question: we're hoping to do a little bit of shopping in Buffalo before heading back to Canada to land. I know normally there is no allowance for any goods brought back to Canada for a less than 24 hour stay. But if we were to buy a few things (wouldn't be more than $200) and put them on the list of goods accompanying her, will there be any problems with that, or will she still have to pay duty and taxes on them?

Thanks! Getting really excited.

Hey there,
As far as I know, you will be ok, and you can as well take off the label and put them between her stuff, and liste them as her used stuff on the list of goods, in my case, when I landed, they didn't even look at the list of goods and they even didn't ask me anything at custom, except welcome home...

Thanks for the response, rorita. The thing is she won't be bringing in any other belongings, as we're already in Canada and we're leaving the country only so that we can re-enter for the landing.

get ride of the bills, tags, packaging.....any proof of purchase basically...
