Hi,
just a question on IMM 5476 use of a representative. Should I send the one in my wife signed for me to represent her? or is it not needed for me to get information about our application once it is in process?

Thanks
Chris

Bump...anyone?

if your wife elects you as her representative, then she will not receive any communication from cic regarding HER application. If she elects you as a representative ALL communication will be sent to you. It is her choice if she wants the information to be sent to her or to you. It is not necessary for an applicant to elect a representative if they wish to receive all communication directly.

Good thing I asked I wasn't aware that ALL communication would then go to me.

Chris

Would that include the final communication requests for passport too and anything else they may request ?

pretty sure it does. generally when someone uses a representative, it is an attorney. it is my understanding the attorney receives all communication about the application and then forwards it to the applicant. If your wife is like me, she will want to receive everything herself for piece of mind and I don't recommend nominating a representative. If she'd rather you handle all the informaiton, then send in the representative form.

if your wife intends to be in canada during the process, she can use your address to receive her COPR. It will not affect your application in any way.
