Hey,

I understand the hours worked during studies do not count towards the required amount.

I got a job as a computer technician a couple months before graduation, where I'm still working to this day. Just wanted to make sure - I'm eligible for CEC IF I've worked at least 1560 hours since the day of my graduation, right?

Thanks a lot guys

you'd need at least 1560 hours in 12 month since the day you received your diploma!

Thanks Johny. I completely agree. I made the same mistake thinking work experience starts counting after graduation. It has to be after the date your degree is conferred!!!

My diploma just says November 2011, and my grade transcript has a field that says Diploma: Date Awarded 11/4/2011

So do my hours start from 11/4/11 or 11/5/11?

The officer will assess based on exactly what it says on the diploma, so using Nov 5 would be more conservative. Hope it helps.

Also, only the experience you gained while holding a PGWP will be counted. Any experience on off-campus work permit will not be counted towards CEC. So you must look at two dates ... diploma conferred and issue date of PGWP. Count your work experience from whichever starts later (PGWP or Diploma conferred).
