Hi there,

Upon completion of a six month probationary period with a previous employer, I had received the following benefits per month : festival bonus, leave fare allowances, corporate phone allowances, group insurance premium and company contribution to provident fund. However my initial contract with the employer only stated a gross monthly salary and none of the above benefits. The benifits were only provided after 6 months when the employer also gave me a revised breakdown of my salary and benifits. Does the employer have to include the benefit details and the periods I had received
them in the reference letter. Or is it acceptable to just give the gross salary per month over the employment duration?

Looking forward to your answers.

Cheers!

best to have it mentioned in the reference letter . the requirement is to detail you annual income (fixed + variable)

So the employer can just state what my 'gross annual/monthly salary was. Gross salary means all benefits included, correct. The employer does not have to include the names of the benefit in the employment letter, correct? They can just write like:
'His gross annual/monthly salary (including benefits) was xxxx'

Thanks!
