query about immigration after landing in canada

I will be staying with my relatives in toronto for first few weeks untill I figure out somethings so I have doubt that if immigration officer there asked about my stay n if I tell him that I ll be staying with my realtives for few days so will that create any problem?
I have heard some thing like they can deport right then on this basis.
