Hi,

I have following queries regarding Canadian job offers:

Unpaid work:

In case of selection for unpaid volunteer job or unpaid internship in Canada, do we need to apply for work permit?
1) Is unpaid work accepted as Canadian experience under express entry?
2) If duration of work is 6 months (unpaid), is the work visa only valid for 6 months then?

Paid work:

1) If we get contractual job (paid) for 6 months, do the employer needs to apply for LMIA?
2) In case of work permit visa issued in this case, would it be for 6 months only? If not, can this be extended also?
3) In the job offer, if condition is that the job is possibly for 6 months but may be extended on need basis, in this case, the work permit visa will be valid of 6 months or more?

Regards,

Unpaid work:
1) No - not accepted. The work needs to be paid.
2) In most cases you require a work permit.

Paid work:
1) Yes.
2) Yes. An extension is possible if your employer obtains another LMIA and extends your contract job.
3) Sorry - I don't understand this question.

Thanks a lot!

Regarding last question:

The job offer states the contract duration is 6 months but it may be extended if needed by the company. In this case, for how long work permit visa would be issued? 6 months or on the basis of possible extension also?

One more query: Canadian experience needs not to be continuous, I guess. Gap of how many months in between is acceptable?

Actually, I want to gain Canadian work experience to add more points to my FSW express entry CRS score and right now I am getting response for short term contract jobs from Canadian employers.
