Hi everyone,

I received my ITA 2 days ago and I have some confusions about the PCC to be provided. It would be great if someone could help guide me.

PCC
I have a passport issued from Kerala and the address in the passport is no longer occupied by me. I relocated to Bangalore 4 years ago and I have been staying at my current residence for 2 years now. The only address proof I have for the present residence is the rent agreement.

I am confused from which passport office I should get my PCC done. If I approach Bangalore passport office, I would have only a rent agreement to show as address proof. If I approach Kerala passport office, that address in Kerala is no longer mine. Which is the right way to go? I am also confused whether I need to get it from both regions. Could someone clarify this for me?

You should get it from Passport Seva Kendra(PSK) at Bangalore. Show your current address proof. They may initiate a police verification that can take upto a month. The PCC issued by PSK will cover for your stay across India.

You can get it done from Kerala, but as the passport is bit old and you are no longer staying in that address, it would be too risky if they initiate a police verification.

Best way is to get it done in bangalore. You just need to get a valid address proof, book appointment online. It might take some time to get the address proof, but it is much safer this way. There are multiple address proofs which could be done. You can open a bank account in SBI, or transfer your existing account from kerala (if you have). Go through the accepted address proofs list from pspk, and get one of them done. You have almost 40-50 days time to get it done, considering you would get the PCC within 2 weeks once you have the proof.
