Hey guys I am a PhD student in Quebec with 442 CRS. Any chance I should hear from cic this year? Also in my EE in mentioned 'all provinces' that I would like to immigrate? Is it a good strategy or shall I select one specific province? Finally, in my job application I have listed all the major cities in all provinces that I would like to work, is that a good idea?

I read somewhere that I should withdraw and make a new profile again? Is that a good step? Will I need to a make a new jobbank account as well?

Thank you for anyone who replies. I would appreciate any response.

It's possible you may get an invitation this year - or you may not. None of us can say for certain.

Can you switch to a PhD program in a different province quickly if needed? If you are accepted under FSW, you'll have to prove that you aren't going to settle in Quebec.

I agree. No one can predict with draw system now. I can't change my program to another province. However, if I needed to settle in Quebec I would have started my French classes and since I didn't I am not planning to stay here. Don't know how to convey that to them.

Thank you so much

You'll need stronger evidence than that to convince them. If you can't change your program or aren't willing to stop attending school - and still have more than a year to go - then it doesn't sound like there's any point apply for PR in any province but Quebec.

I can't stop my program for sure. I don't want to apply in Quebec as it requires French and it takes forever to get that level they need. Any suggestions on getting a nomination from other province? Thank you again

No matter which program you apply under (FSW, provincial nominee) they will ask for proof that you plan to reside outside of Canada. I don't see how you are going to prove this if you are actively pursuing a PhD program in Quebec and are unwilling/unable to change universities. Unfortunately I have no recommendations for you. I think you're going to have to chose between your PhD and applying for PR. Not sure both are possible at the same time.
