Hi,

I thought of creating this new thread for all Quebec applications of 2014 under Family Class Sponsorship of Spouse and Common Law partners..
Please share your queries and experiences here...

My status:
I am still gathering the documents and preparing the application package to file sometime in 2 weeks from now.

Thanks

hey!

I'm applying from Quebec too! Are you going to send it inland or outland?

Hi I sent my sponsorship and main application to Mississauga on the 23rd Janaury 2014. It arrived on the 31st Jan. I am doing an outland application from London Uk and just completing the application for the CSQ Quebec. Hopefully will get the sponsorship approved soon!

Hi , we are in the same boat. I will mail the app inland ,hopefully before March.

Hey,

Our outland application for sponsorship/PR arrived in Mississauga 23rd Jan, so we're waiting for AOR and then SA. Applying through London like james1121. CSQ application is ready to be sent once we have our SA. Good luck everyone!

Hi, greetings from Indonesia.
We re doing outland application for Quebec. application filed on Nov 20, 2013.
AOR : Jan 10, 2014 (Christmas n new year's holidays made some delayed in processing time)
Medical check : Oct 4, 2013.
CSQ request : Jan 24, 2014. CSQ start to process : Feb 5, 2014.
Visa office : Singapore.
Hope to hear good news very soon.

Received our SA on 22nd and yesterday, 24th sent our CSQ application. It should reach Montréal by the end of the week/beginning of next, after that hoping to hear from them soon! Does CSQ always come by snail mail or can it be also via e-mail like SA?

I think SA is for Sponsorship Approval, also called "1st stage approval" here.

And here's my own quick story :

My (recently married) wife and I are currently in Thailand. We first wanted to apply from outland in the next few weeks but, more and more, we feel like it would be better to apply from inland when we go back to Quebec next July. She already has a multi-entry visitor visa for Canada.

Our main worry right now is : Since she will quit her job and stop her lease, is there a chance that she could be blocked at the Montreal airport, despite having a valid visitor visa, if they suspect that she wants to immigrate? She would, of course, have a return ticket to show up just in case.

Any first or second hand account of this scenario would be greatly appreciated (positive ones or negative ones).

Please help!

My common-law partner and I are here asia. He want to send his sponsorship application but we don't know if I should include my PR application because in my document checklist it says I must get a CSQ. Should I wait to send my PR application until I have my CSQ and just send my common-law's sponsorship application? And if he just send his application without mine is he should just pay the sponsorship fee or the whole thing like, sponsor, principal applicant, dependent and rights for permanent residency?

Thanks.. hope someone can answer all my question because his applicationis ready to send but we dont know what to do..

Hi there. The first step is to send the sponsorship application, PR application and proof of relationship all together to CPC-Mississauga. You cant send only one part of the application. You also have to pay the sponsorship, applicant and dependant fees along with your application. The only fee you can wait to send is the right of permanent residency.
After the sponsor will have received his/her approval, usually 1 month after reception of application, you can apply for CSQ. You have to join the approval letter or email along with CSQ application.
Note that there is also a 269$ CAD fee for applying CSQ.
I hope this helps.

Hi,
Like Edgehead adviced, you should send the PR application together with the sponsorship application. Once you receive the sponsorship approval, the letter will even instruct you to apply for CSQ. You can't apply for CSQ without having the sponsorship approval letter and you can't apply for the sponsorship approval without the full PR application package.

You can pay the right of permanent residence fee at a later point, but it's recommended you pay it all at once so you won't have any delay for the VO having to ask you to pay.

Good luck with the application!
