QSW Passports Requested: Need help.

HI,

I am new to this forum. Can some help me with these questions or direct me to the exact place?

I got my medicals done in FEB 2013, and passport is requested in DEC 2013 (a week ago). And i send the passports back to ottawa. Does any one know how long it would take to send our passports back?

1) Does they stamp a visa on the passport and how long i get?
2) is there a time limit that i need to enter canada with in some time? **
3) Does they also send PR card as with some documents? like health cards?
4) i stay in US on job visa and can i drive with US license in canada and can i enter enter from any border or does it have to be only from Montreal? (i am on QSW).

not sure about Quebec but normally:

1. If you are not from a visa-exempt country, you get a PR visa on your passport. The validity of the visa is usually the expiry date of your medicals which is one year after you have done medicals.
2. See 1.
3. Yes, they will send PR card at the address you provide when you land in about 40-60 days. Not sure about Health card but I think you need to inform them.
4. Better if you do your first landing in Quebec.. does not matter after that...you can drive in Canada on US license but I think only for a maximum of 3 months which varies province to province.
