>>> That will help. Although scotia bank is not near safehomestay location. It is in Finch.

2. I will list 2 b4 sheet for good to accompany & follow(2 set each)
>>> correct, pictures of Gold and silver ( 2 sets)

>>> They have become little more business minded, give priority to people with long bookings. Talk to them first about availablity of accomodation. Initially dont look for long contracts, find some place on month to month rent. This way you would be more flexible in moving to a place where you get job.It is possible to get accomodation in 7 days time, but for that you will have to make efforts from day 1. I suggest spend 10 days in safehome stay location. Apartment lease is above 6 months period. Mostly ask for 12 months period.

4. I will manage a letter in pad with duly signed from authority with my existing driving license.
>>> that is ok

>>> 46 *3 = 138 + 18 kgs in handbags - Total : 156 kgs + laptop. I dont think you need to carry more weight to Canada. Everything is available here to buy. I met a lady who brought soya dal 20 kgs from Saudi ( she got that free ) and had to pay charges of $100 on it.

6. What about price of utensils/dinner set in toronto////i am thinking whether i will take from my home or not, although luggage cosy will huge....

>> Why not include utensils in your baggage of 156 Kgs. Utensils are not very expensive here, but when you see in conversion from $ to your currency it would look very very expensive. If possible you should bring your old one here to save some money.

Dear Explorer1,

My travel agent said for two adult tickets , they will allow 23x2=46 kg + 7 kg hand luggage

It will also allow to cost 150 US$ for 1 piece 23 kg in airport by paying money to airport authority

Most airline allow 2 bags ( 23 kgs ) each ( per person ) to new immigrants. Check with airlines office, tell then you are an immigrant.

I think your travel agent is misguiding you. You may check with other travel agent as well. Most of the airlines allow a passenger can carry 23kgX2 and 7 kg at hand. So for your case it should be 46 kg X 3 and 7 kg X3. Extra luggage you have pay per kg in airport.

Hi,

Check in Luggage : 46*3
Cabin Luggage : 7*3
Laptop bag can carry(weight not included in the checkin or cabin)
Ladies hand bag : can carry(weight not included in the checkin or cabin)
Apart from this:

It depends on the airline like(+2 or -2)
For each of the 23 kgs checkin baggage: you can go upto 32 kgs(extra 9 kgs) for which u can pay $50 extra
or else
for an extra 23 kgs luggage piece: you need to pay $150.

according to the calculation analysis:
it is always better to add those 9 kgs instead of a whole 23 kgs becoz: please bera in mind that those 23 kgs luggage also includes the weight of suitcase as well: which may be around 3-4 kgs.
so 23-4 kgs =19kgs for which you are paying $150

but rather if you go for extra 9 kgs per checkin luggage: u can get 18 kgs for two extra checkin luggage and where you pay only $100 in total.

so, $50 Saving in this case....

Let me know if you need anymore help as i stay in Toronto.

Cheers

Hi Ripon243,

In Toronto: North York(the place where i stay): 1 BHK is around $1000, you may get 1 BHK for around $800-$1000 in downtown area.
I pay $1000 becoz my office is very close to my house(just 10 min away) and also very very near to subway and there is a very big shopping mall and movie theatre just near my house.......so i have all these facilities....

Contract will usually be for 6 months min and if you take the contract for 1 year initially: u may get little bit of discount(may be $50) per month.
and when you want to terminate your agreement: you have to give them a notice of 2 months min.

This is what we currently have in our apartment.Personal experience....

Cheers,

Also, in addition to this...........

if you go in for a renovated apartment(renovated in the sense: may be the old tenants have spoiled the flat and you want the building manager to put new paints in all rooms and do little bit of floor cleaning, etc), then they charge you $25-$50 extra per month.

if you adjust yourself with an apartment(which the old tenants have used and want to do all the cleaning all by urself), then they just charge the flat rent.

:-)
