Hi everybody,

I have applied as an Accountant under NOC 1111 and got my AOR 4 days ago, now i am preparing my full documents to be submitted to London Visa office. my concerns are :

1- The lead statement of the NOC says "Financial auditors and accountants are employed by auditing and accounting firms throughout the private and public sectors, or they may be self-employed" , in my case i work in the finance department in a telecom company and not in an accounting firms, can it cause a problem ? as far as i know all companies must have their own Accounatnts specially the large multinational.

2- My contractual job title mentioned in the reference letter is " Corporate Reporting Analyst" which is not in the Title list of NOC 1111, but the duties are matching with most of NOC 1111 duties and will be almost the same as it was written in my approved application by CIO, again my question is can this fact cause a problem with my application ?

3- In the economic class form, a question was saying "list your OCCUPATION and duties", I have listed my Occupation as "Accountant" in the form and attached another extra sheet where i provided a detailes description for each job highliting my contractual job title and its equivelent NOC main title , code and more detailed duties, my question is shall i leave it as it is with my full application to visa office or it should be adjusted by replacing "Accountant " by "corporate reporting Analyst" ?

I really appreciate in advance all your contribution :)

Do you have an degree in accounting?

I have 4 years bachelor degree in Accounting and Part qualified CIMA

you will be considered under NOC1111 only, as your case is primarily assessed by CIC, Canada and you also got an approval so why to worry? The duties mentioned in your reference letter will have the main checkpoint for your local visa office. sometimes companies used their own designation system so i think you will not get any trouble at all.

All the best!

Hi i also dont think any probs in ur case just make sure whatever u wrote ur duties during initial application to cio must match with reference

Thanks alot HoneyJack and setcanada.

I was just worried when I read in the lead statement of the NOC that Accountants are employed by accounting firms and they did not mention private sector companies in general.

Waiting for Qorax precious comments to clear my doubts :)

Well, accounting FIRMS are public accounting here and they do say *private* and public sector. The wording at the beginning of the sentence is awkward but does sentence as a whole includes private enterprise.

Thanks tgchi for your clarrification :)

Still waiting for Qorax!

The other thing to note is that accountants are on the list because of the private sector demand, not public sector.

Good luck to you!

Please be reminded that qorax is not a Visa Officer neither is he an accountant. Also he has emigrated and would be more busy with settling down and other stuffs meaning less time for u and i. What do you want him to say? to tell you to worry? others have said dont worry. You have an accounting degree which in itself makes you an accountant. I have seen seniors on this forum who are doing finance Job without accounting degrees and they have sailed through.

please get a reference letter from your office clearly detailing your duties and as long as the duties in the letter matches what the NOC states ass well as what you had previously stated then you are good to go.

N.B Always say You are awaiting more response from others particularly those who have been in similar shoes rather than" i am still waiting for qorax" cause these shuts some other opinions out.

Mt 2 cents

I agree with you, saying thanks but I need a particular someone to tell me your opinion has merit is rude.

And I am an accountant, a controller actually.

why not send him Bro Qorax a Personal Message...if you want his opinion only or as i understand in your post below - waiting and value his opinion only.

Do not worry it is fine. Just send all the documents as asked as per the local visa office.
