Hi, Just got a ppr.. One quick question from my sister and husband moving along with us from the U.S to Canada for landing: My sister is a U.S citizen and the Husband is not(his residency here -not yet finalized). the question is:
(1) Since both of them are doing the landing same time, is it possible for my sister to re-enter Canada after landing since she's a u.s citizen going by the fact that (your PR visa will be valid for only one entry). I mean does it apply to U.S citizens? Her husband will be movng once and for all during this landing process.
(2) I know this question may look stupid but I want to ask it: Since her Husband doesn't have the U.S resident permit, will he go through the U.S immigration at the Border before going through the Canadian custom to do their landing or just straight to the Canada post? We are planning of using the rainbow bridge, niagara falls. By the way, thanks for all ur relentless contibutions here.. It takes a good person to do all that. Thanks a lot!

1. Yes, she can enter/exit Canada any no. of times with her Pp+COPR, by road (in fact, anybody can). The PRV is of no consequence, as it gets invalidated once we "land". Whereafter, only the PRC is our main document. However, for entries into Canada "by road", a PRC is not required, the COPR with Pp suffices.

2. I'm sure he'll have to perform some kind on exit formalities@the US POE. But, am not clear of it's process, given that he's not having a US residency yet. He has a legal status there, isn't he? More on this (Point-2) u may seek other's replies.

Thank you for your reply! From your Number 2 response, the husband has no legas status in here. Infact, he's been asked to leave. And, we're wondering if it will be entered in their system(U.S) and if that would cause any problems even though he doesn't bother about coming back to States some day. Also, we were wondering if it be smoother for both of them travelling to their home country and eventually travel from their home country to canada for their landing process? please reply.. thanks!

Jerry2121,
I have crossed the border between US and Canada at Niagara and also at Washington-BC. There are no checks on the US side when you exit USA. When you return back to USA, obviously there are checks on the US side.

Thanks GJP!!!! One quick question:
As the principal Applicant, can my spouse who visited me from our home country to the u.s recently complete the landing process with me from here or does she have to go home and complete her's from home country after I must have completed my landing?

She can do the landing from the US along with you. It is not mandatory that she has to land from your home country.
