Guys,
I'm working in Canada with work permit right now and i sent PR application this month. My score is over 67 even 0 point in language item. So i want to know if i must to take IELTS test or not. My mother language is non-English. Thanks in advance and good luck to you all.
Miyo

You are expected to submit IELTS result to the CHC.
Other write letters explaining but sending Ielts result will be my best option since you will know what point you will be claiming

Hi Miyo,

Better to take one. We are on the same boat were english is just second language. I tried to explain my proficiency through writting since I've worked in Australia for 3 years but they've asked me to submit one.

hey Miyo, even me too working in the USA since 2years, studied in English medium school since KG to university Degree, master, but they ask me for IELTS score becasue I belongs to Non English speaking country INDIA(English thats not our mother toung).

as others said. without IELTS, No acceptance. They get tons of applications with IELTS, so why considering others who dont have them?

as per EG7 : "CIC strongly advises that you only choose this option if your first language is English or French."

this is what i think
if your points coming to 67 with out language points, then i think you should be fine. that means if they award you minimum points (2pts) or no points in language you should get the pass mark of 67 points in other areas.

If you take the exam and score minimum that will certainly add 2 points and your overall score is going to be more and will strengthen your application. Why to take chance....IELTS is not hard....

Thanks everybody!
Then i will arrange the IELTS test ASAP.
