I'm a long time lurker on this forum, this is my first post.

I received my PR status in June but won't get my PR card for a few more weeks. I had planned a holiday back to the UK (where I'm originally from) in August and booked all the flights a long time ago. I'm getting all the documents ready now so that I can make a PRTD application as soon as I get to the UK but I'm confused by one element of the application.

On the website instructions (https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...lying-permanent-resident-travel-document.html) it says:

If you have been a permanent resident for less than five (5) years
  • you must show that you will be able to meet the minimum of 730 days of physical presence in Canada within five (5) years of the date you became a permanent resident.
I have only been a PR for a few weeks (although I have previously had a Work Permit and job in Canada for about a year). What documentation can I submit to prove that I will stay in Canada for 730 days? At the moment I am planning on submitting the following:
  • Bank statements from my Canadian bank account
  • Pay stubs from my job in Canada
  • Marriage certificate to Canadian national
  • Photocopy of my wife's passport to show she is a Canadian national
Will this be enough or is there extra documentation I should provide?

There's no requirement to prove the 730 days for new PRs.

Thanks for your quick reply. I'm afraid I'm a bit confused. Who is this instruction supposed to be for if not new PRs?
It means "prove that you have not already spent more than 1095 days outside Canada since you landed". In your case, it's obvious that you can't possibly have done so.

Check out the PR Residency Obligations section of the forum. Lots of examples there.
