Good Morning Everyone,

My wife and I applied for the PRTD under the Humanitarian and Compassionate Grounds in Jordan. The application was received on the 23rd of Feb and completed today. We still did not receive it yet. I never read any story of a PRTD under Humanitarian and Compassionate grounds being completed in about 2-3 weeks. Does this mean that we are certainly rejected? This is really strange... Everyone said it takes 3-4 months, if not more? Did they really consider our H&C grounds or did they just reject us without even caring? We send a lot of documents supporting our case that I feel it will take a lot of time to go through it all. I am in shock

Thanks everyone for your input

It's certainly possible for a turn-around time of just a few weeks. You are right, normally the wait times are a few months. But we do see faster processing times from time to time.

In terms of whether this is an approval or refusal, I think that's really impossible for any of us to say. It will depend on the strength of your H&C argument and how long it's been since you were in Canada / how short you are of meeting the residency obligation.

Good luck.

They certainly considered our H&C case, right? I mean it does not get ignored, correct? With that speed I felt that they ignored it

If you requested H&C consideration, then they would have considered your application under H&C.

When you say 'completed', what do you mean? What did you receive from them, or how did you find out it was completed?

Unfortunately we have been rejected. We want to apply for a visitor visa. What does the process look like? Do we have to apply to something first to revoke our status then apply for a visitor visa?

If the PRTD was refused that should result in an automatic loss of your PR status.

Details on how to apply for a TRV are here: https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/visa.asp

You may want to wait 6-8 months before applying for the TRV instead of applying immediately after the PRTD refusal.

So if I understand correctly, wait for 6 months and then apply for a TRV. Nothing else should be done from our part?
You will want to make sure you have very strong ties to Jordan, have good savings amount, etc. You will have to have a very strong application to get a TRV because you have asked to return to Canada on a permanent basis fairly recently.
