Proving intent - letter from real estate agent

With processing times so far off I am struggling with proving intent.

We recently met with a real estate agent just to get an idea of what our house is worth and when we should sell. I was thinking a letter from the agent might be be helpful, but I'm sure what it should say. any suggestions?

You could just attach eg email correspondence from the agent without asking them to write a specific letter.

Make it easy for him - tell him to take any standard cover / offer letter that he'd use when sending a contract to be selling agent and update as normal.

Eg Thanks / we met / as discussed/ contract attached (sample contract if you prefer) / for sale of your property at address / timeframe to sale might be / whatever other details you think might be important.

Or just write up your own text.

To you. You're showing evidence that you have done things. Simplest answer here is that the real estate agent is offering you services related to your move.

Thanks! We are really struggling with this part as it is quite hard to prove intent for a move so far off.

My husband will be keeping his current job and working remote, but HR won't officially sign off on a letter to that effect before they negotiate his new contract, and they won't do that until 3 months in advance! :S

It is difficult. Provide what you can. Be prepared to get an additional document request later in the process (i.e. keep slowly preparing and collecting evidence, emails from movers 'we'd be happy to make such an offer when you are ready to make final arrangements.').

I don't know if your husband's HR would be willing to, but they could write a letter without an official sign-off/final decision - just "we discussed the potential arrangement of you working remote in your current position from Canada; while a final decision and agreement is subject to business needs in future, we are prepared to consider such an arrangement. [This does not constitute a formal offer blah blah blah]"
