Providing a ticket that is going to be canceled

I am planning to submit a ticket leaving canada in my visitor vis application. The booking is confirmed but I will cancel it in 14 days if I get declined or not get the visa, to get a refund.

If immigration doesn’t check the ticket within 14 days, how is it going to effect my application? Would it be considered a lie or they would understand that the to ticket is canceled because I didn’t get a respond?

You are not required to purchase a ticket to apply for a TRV. A flight itinerary from Expedia (or other sites) or just a screen captured flight itinerary from your chosen airline is enough. The ticket is for the visa officer to check your planned dates.

What matters to them is you meet the requirements for a TRV. You can convince a visa officer that you have ties—such as a job, home, financial assets or family—that will take you back to your home country, you will leave Canada at the end of your visit and you have enough money for your stay.

As above you do not need a ticket and anyway unlikely IRCC will not check any ticket or booking with an airline theye are more concerned with firm intent through a planned itinerary.

There is no guarantee that you will get a result for a TRV in 14 days anyway and the fact as per your other posts if you are not applying from your home country processing time could be longer than that published for the country you are applying from.

As above you need to show strong ties to return to your home country and applying from a third country can makes this a challenge to explain your intent depending on your residency status in that third country.
